Common Orthodontic Issues

We are so excited to welcome you to Reddy To Smile Orthodontics, where our goal is to make you happy with your smile! Orthodontic treatment can do so much, not only for your health, but for your self-esteem as well. We hope to make your journey to a new smile fast, fun, and as rewarding as possible.

Types of Treatment

As a full-service orthodontic specialty practice, we offer the most innovative treatment options and technology, all customized to meet our patients’ needs.

For our youngest patients, we do early (Phase 1) treatment including habit correction, management of severe dental crowding, and correcting crossbites and underbites. Following this phase, we evaluate whether or not Phase 2 treatment (full braces) is necessary.

Self-ligating braces allow for more comfortable tooth movement, spontaneous expansion, maintenance of good blood flow, and bone healing as teeth move. The appointments are also shorter and more comfortable than with traditional braces, which patients of all ages appreciate.  There are the traditional silver braces as well as a clear or ceramic option for improved esthetics.

Dr. Reddy is a certified provider of Invisalign® clear aligners for patients who want a bracket-free orthodontic experience. The aligners are clear, comfortable, and easily removable for eating, brushing, and flossing.

Our surgical treatments are for adults with severe skeletal malocclusions for which conventional orthodontics is not enough. We treat these cases in conjunction with some of the best oral surgeons in the area.  Both the orthodontist and oral surgeon form a joint treatment plan spefically designed to meet the goals of each case.

The Cost of Orthodontics

We believe that everyone deserves an amazing smile, and don’t want finances to stand in the way. We offer flexible, in-house, interest-free payment plans and a discount for payment in full. We also offer discounts for patients who elect to see us even if we don't participate with their insurance, and discounts if they have no insurance at all.  Courtesies are also extended to multiple members within the family along with those that have more than one phase while in treatment with our practice.

During your complimentary initial consultation, we’ll discuss your tentative treatment options, your primary concerns, and your ultimate goals regarding treatment. Schedule your appointment at our Frederick, MD orthodontic office today!

Patient sucked her thumb as a young child. She started treatment at age 13. She had braces and a special appliance — called a crib — to retrain the tongue, for 28 months. Now she can bite through the lettuce in her sandwich:)

This adult patient, age 25, required braces and jaw surgery to correct his severe overbite, with treatment taking two years. His problem could have been corrected without surgery if he had been treated before he was a teenager.

This patient's lateral incisors were congenitally missing. She had braces for 20 months to move the teeth into their correct positions, then the missing teeth were replaced with bonded "Maryland" bridges by her general dentist.

At age ten, patient had a big overjet with the top teeth protruding beyond the bottom. She had two phases of treatment. The first helped her jaws to grow more harmoniously and the second aligned her teeth and bite. At age 13, she was proudly displaying her new smile.

Non-braces treatment

Sometimes braces are not needed to get noticeable improvements in tooth alignment. This patient was first seen at age seven for crowding of the lower permanent teeth. A procedure was performed to reduce the width of the adjacent baby teeth and the permanent incisors aligned on their own in nine months.

Patient's parents were concerned about both aesthetics and the health of the erupting permanent teeth when they brought him to the orthodontist at age eight. The lower front teeth were crowded and touching the palate, and the upper front teeth were extremely displaced from their normal positions. After 12 months of Phase-One treatment with an expander and partial braces, patient's appearance and dental function were vastly improved.
